Brake Pads - Which ones?

I popped down to halfords to get some prices for pads.
Mintex MDB1416 (Normal OE Replacement) £47
or
Red Dot XE4121 (Fast Road or Competition use) £57
Has anyone tried the above pads?
I know there are better parts avaialble on the market, I just want these as a temporary replacement. I am hoping to have big disk conversion done in about six months time.
