Default Brake upgrades Type R

Type R has 17" wheels already (not sure of the offset).
Brakes have already got braided hoses, a decent quality 5.1 fluid and uprated pads but they don't inspire confidence when coming down from high speed.

Think i have 3 options.

1: Refurb the original 4 pots as they are quite old and leave it at that
2: Refurb them and go for the Godspeed large brake kit
3: Go for some Brembos of a later model STI

Just looking for value for money

As you have 17" wheels , and would be able to sell your original 4 pots for about £200 , a good option to go for is one of my 330mm kit with AP 4 pots , these include 330mm x 28mm 2 piece grooved discs and bells and Ferodo DS2500 pads and are on offer currently for £895 , if you were looking at our 335mm kit , and needed your calipers reconditioning , it would end up costing more by the time you factor in the money you get for your standard brakes

Yes they are , they are a 2 piece disc and bell the same size as a standard disc , 294mm x 24mm , and will fit straight on with the Subaru embossed 4 pot calipers
