15" wheel maximum brake sizes?
hi guys, i have a 98 classic pre-facelift with 15" alloys. what are my options for replacing the worn out discs, pads and drum shoes? i measured my front discs at 260mm, can i take bigger without any issues and is it worth it? what would i need to upgrade my rear drums to discs? is that worth it?
thanks!
thanks!

unless its a sport/gl/etc then all the turbo cars have 277mm discs (if 2pots fitted)
depends on your wheels as with the correct clearance you can accomodate the "subaru" 4pot calipers or even something like the AP 304mm kits

thanks, it's a GL 2l non-turbo wagon with subaru 15" alloys. I take it these are stock items. I've measured 260 on the front discs but need to know whether to do a straight swap or if I can upgrade?

I've inspected the front setups and it looks like they have 1-pots on the front with 260 vented discs. The rears are drum brakes. Is there anything at all I can upgrade without having to change the standard 15" wheels?

thanks, if I choose to do this I only have to buy new 2 pots and new 277mm discs then? any adaptors, new tubing/hoses etc required? what bolts required to go through the mounting brackets into the calipers? any idea how much each item would cost?

Hi
You dont need any fitting kit of any kind as the discs and calipers will fit straight on , the bolts will be the same , the hoses will also be the same so no need to change these.
The discs and calipers should be available very cheaply as no one with the turbo wants them ,you should be able to get a full set up from about £30
Cheers Ian

I've just replaced my 2pot front, 1 pot rear set up.
Would be looking for £40 ish for the lot, F+R calipers, discs and pads.
Alyn or Ian will be able to advise whats needed to do the rear disc conversion.
