Hi All
I had a track day at Dijon last Sunday - while preparing car last week I noticed that the cooling vanes on my TarOx discs were getting worn (about .5mm).
I'm looking to upgrade brakes soon anyway (see separate Movit post ), so thought "no worries" and just fitted new pads. Bad move - brakes overheated badly on the Sunday, giving me only one hard lap b4 I needed to back off a while and let them cool. Vey frustrating.
Even worse - first time I try and use the brakes aggresively the following day, one of the disks cracked right through on the outside I don't like to think of that happening while trying to brake from 220km/h for a sharp right at the end of the straight on Sunday....and I was going to go back out for one last run......
Moral of the story? Don't mess about with your brakes - if it's worn, replace it...before it fails
Just gotta' get my Movits double-plus quick now (don't think the OE discs will like being gripped by ds2500's, lol!) - I've another track day in 10 days!
