Hi
The RA I had a few years ago had the 277mm front discs with 2 pot calipers and 266mm vented rear discs with the one pot calipers.

If you email me pictures of your front and rear brakes I will tell you exactly what you need

the early RA's were no different at all from the WRX's and STi's of similiar age
all up to 1995 used a sliding 2pot on the front with 277mm vented discs and a single slider rear with vented 266mm discs

be careful that someone hasn't fitted later 4pots though as these cars are rarely original these days, easy to see as they will have SUBARU written down the sides with a 294mm disc

@stockcar

no i havent the 4-pot, its the standard 2 pot, with 277mm and 266mm rear.
BUT my wondering is that there are pads for ABS to buy and other for "no ABS".
So my question is, when i buy pads that are normaly for a standard WRX with ABS,
will these pads fit at my RA without ABS??

Hi
There are 2 different types of 2 pot calipers , the early ones which you probably have , the pads have cuts outs on the ends of them , the later 2 pot calipers have lugs sticking out of the ends of the pads , you can see by looking through the wheels at them.

The ABS doesn't affect what calipers you have fited

No , you need the correct pads to fit your calipers , but as I have said , there are only 2 types , and you can see by looking through your wheels which ones you have

Lee,

Your car was built in 1993 so you have the early set up with cutouts in the pad backing where it locates into the caliper.

The part numbers you need are:

Front Brake Discs: 2x 26300AE071
Front Brake Pads: 1x 26296AA041

Rear Vented Brake Discs: 2x 26310AA151
Rear Brake Pads: 1x 26296AA062

Sorry but as a bit of a hijack, I've just tried the above link to get a part number for a bumper bar for a 99 (facelift) Impreza and got 57760FA500. I've just phoned the local dealer (Threeways Abergele) and once again they've been useless. It's not a part number and they won't even have a look what the correct one is. I need a VIN but the bumper has been fitted to a 96 car so the VIN is not right for the bumper.

Any chance you could have a wee look?

Hi,

The part number you have of 57760FA500 a good subaru part number, but it looks like it is for the Austrailian market & their Wrx's and Turbo's are completely different to the UK or JDM versions of the Impreza.

You don't specify weather you have a turbo version of bumper fitted, but if you do then the number you need is 57760FA680 and the current retail price from subaru is £53.96 inc VAT

@PeeVee

Do you really think the rear pads are 26296AA062 ?

cause i have the FAST2 subaru part catalog too, and it seems
that the brakes at my my93 RA are the same like MY92 Legacy Turbo.
Front-Discs have same number, front pads have same number, rear discs have
same number, BUT: rear pads you said 26296AA062 , and my FAST with the
Legacy Turbo VIN says: 26296AA082

I would go with whichever part number you can get hold of as both part numbers are the same size and shape.

The 082 pad as you rightly say are manufactured for the legacy turbo, whilst the 062 is used on the impreza turbo.

We always found the 082 pad more expensive and difficult to get hold of because the legacy turbo was never officially imported into the uk, so used the readily available 062 version.

The difference between the pads has to be to do with something like the compound that they are made from as we could find no other visual difference between them.

legacy turbo never officially imported to te UK???
having owned a number of UK one si can guarantee they were (unless your talking about the JDM only spec special addition sor the later twin turbo cars)

but to clarify yes, the early leggy turbo uses an identical set-up to an import WRX (although the UK Impreza's only have a solid rear disc until about 97)
