Default Scything sound coming from right hand wheels

Hi everyone,

Could really do with some advice...

Got a scything/squeaking sound coming from either the front or back wheels, (not jacked it up yet)... Any ideas, as I thought a wheel bearing was a more rumbling sound...

Stone caught between disc and backplate?
Small stone/grit between pad and disc?
Pad/dsic noise?

it turned out to be a broken retainer clip (got some on order from autobmc - followed my mate who's got an evo6 and my classic stayed with him - 40bhp or so down on paper!!!
