Default what tyres do I need?

Think just very nearly bought the wrong size tyres... almost a £540 mistake.

Been outside to look at my current wheels and they are 225/45/17, which is on these wheels:

I have bought a set of wheels with the following info (supposed to be for a classic/bugeye):
Cezam Attack wheels
PCD - 5x 100
OFFSET - 48
HUB BORE - 73

What size tyres do I go for? 225/45/17?

No idea... will need to get the tape measure out tomorrow...

Which explains why I never measured it, the missus has "moved" the tape measure.

8.5 inches... which is 215? I think I may have bought inappropriate wheels

Hi

The centre (hub) bore of the wheel will be 73mm but as they are aftermarket wheels they will be designed to take spiggot rings which should be supplied with the wheels. They are small 'spacer' rings which are normally plastic. These will take the centre bore of the wheel down to the 56.1 hub size of the Impreza.
If they were not supplied with the wheels just give me a shout as we carry plenty of these in stock.
As for the tyre size, what size wheels are they? 17"? When it comes to the width, don't measure them with a tape measure, this will not give you the correct width as the width of an alloy wheel ie 7.5", 8.0", 8.5" is actually measured from the inside of the rim so if you measure 8.5" from face of wheel to the very back of the rim it will more likely be a 7.5" wheel.
To find the width of the wheel it should be marked on the back of the wheel.
Hope this helps and if you need any more help just give me a call or PM me.

Thanks

Keith

Thanks Keith, that was rather helpful!! I will have another look tomorrow morning in the light THANKS!!

Off to Quik-Fit tomorrow morning as I picked up a screw in my rear tyre, hopefully it can be repaired as if these wheels are fit for purpose, they will be getting sprayed and new tyres fitted next week Will take one with me tomorrow and get them to confirm tyre size (and some prices).
