Default Back Brakes options

In days of old rear brakes were often left as standard while the fronts beefed up to handle additional load.

I'm looking at replacing my back brakes but wanted to get to input as to whether or not the standard replacement disks ( not drilled / grooved) are ok.

I'll be doing the usual day to day driving and will most likely never see a track. The fronts are Tarox Japans with red stuff and are more then capable off stopping me. is there any need to throw an extra £100 on to the rears

The most important thing is to match the front and rear pad compounds.

I would go with OEM rear discs + Redstuff pads on the rear.

Give us a call on 01462 488244 and we can quote you happy

This is one thing I never thought I would agree with until this year! I now have matched front and rear pads and disks and I can tell the difference on heavy braking. Before the car would want to stand on its front end, or the rear would feel like it was overtaking the front!
Good advice I have finally found out after 7 years of ownership! LOL
Edited to say, I am using EBC Ultimax disks and Redstuff pads all round.

I am proposing to replace my front rotors and replace pads all round with Red Stuff.
The problem I have is I am not confident the products sold here in Oz are current and they are still putting out the old pads , which appears to be of an unacceptable quality

We send quite a few parcels over to OZ so it wouldn't be a problem supplying the latest compounds to you to make sure you get the correct ones
Cheers Ian
