ADVICE.. Wheels/Tyres/Brakes/Suspension for Track use
Hello Guys need some advice on a few bits… ok so I have a uk spec 2000 turbo classic which is totally stock… took it around the track on sat to get an idea of its behaviour so I can get an idea on what needs sorting… Im from the dub scene so my past track cars have been VW so not too familiar with Jap’s.
First of all I need advice on brakes…. They were ok but not good enough so want to know if I should just stick to the stock brake setup and upgrade the discs/pads or is there a better option available maybe to adapt a setup from a newer Scooby?? Please keep in mind il probably want to mess around with the power eventually
My standard wheels are 16x7… what width is best recommended on these cars for track use??
Ride is a bit of a wobble… not impressed… recommendation for suspension… will coilovers be the best option to tighten things up??
Will appreciate your advice and all recommendations welcome
cheers

4 pots are what most advise, godspeed can provide pads and discs to suit, get some stainless hoses and decent fluid (old fluid can be very bad as it is hygroscopic and absorbs water from the air).

Although I have a WRX Bug track car the basics are the same. Whilst I'd love to have unlimited funds, I haven't so here's what I did and it seems to work fine
1. Front Brembos with grooved disks, Ferrodo race pads, braided hoses and Dot 5.1
2. Sti shocks with Prodrive Springs
3. Whiteline 24mm rear ARB, CDF front & rear droplinks
4. Sti 17" (needed for the Brembo) with Yoko A048R
5. Sport Cat Downpipe with PPP centre and backbox
6. Sti Intercooler, scoop and undertray
Once all that was done the car's interior was totally stripped and most importantly full service incl cambelt, pullies and water pump, and then a full geometry check for alignment and camber.
Future plans which are in a box in the garage, are a VF35, Pink injectors, Prodrive 3 port boost solinoid, Walbro Pump and of course a remap
