Default 18x8.5 ET45 on Hawk STi 225 or 235

Time to put some tyres on some new rims.
Gone a bit wider th stock 17x8 ET53, with 8.5x18 and an ET45.

Was going to go for 235, but on trial fitting the wheels alone this morning was wondering if a 225 would be better due to the ET45.

Currently running Prodrive springs

cheers.....

I've got 8x18s on et 48 using 235's on my bug, and I'm looking for some spacers to fill out the arches, 235's should be fine

Hi

On a Hawkeye STi the correct tyre size for 18" wheels is 235/40/18 as the car has the revised track and larger diameter OE size tyres (225/45/17 instead of the earlier cars 215/45/17).
You can pysically fit 225/40s but the rolling circumference is a bit smaller than the originals so the speedo will be slightly out and they won't fill the extended arches as well.

Hope this helps

Thanks

Keith

Cheers Keith, Think I'll be getting some 235 Falkens then. Thanks
Had Toyo's for the last 10+ years and fancy a change.
Anythings better then the current RE070's on my 17's this time of year.
