Default Rear Brake upgrade

Hey,
I managed to pick up some cheap standard 4 pot calipers from ebay that i was going to rebuild and paint as a small project.
I was wondering if it was possible to use these to replace the rear calipers. I know id need larger discs (preferably the same size as front). what would i need to do the conversion and is it possible?

Thanks

Pete

Nope as the rear brake uses shoes internally for the handbrake, the regular 4 pot discs dont have a big enough recess.

*****. in that case ill refurb them and replace my front calipers. is there an easy upgrade i can do on the rears?
I feel like the brakes should be much better than they are as they are crap in comparison to my 22 year old corrado 16v

To be frank, rear brakes are only there as stabilisers for the fronts. better pads on the rears may help the car feel a little more planted when braking. Best upgrade for ageing 4 pots is to refurb them and use decent pads, the difference I felt after doing mine was night and day.

sorry but the rears do a loit more than people give them credit for on a 4wd car and IMO i find the Subaru specifically under-braked on the rear.........

not sure what age car you have but the 2pot later calipers is the easiest conersion.......

yeah ive always thought if there is drive to the wheels then braking is quite important. I have a turbo 2000. ill start looking at some 2pots for the rear and refurb the 6pots i bought and put them on the front.

Thanks very much

Alyn is, as usual, right.

I now have STi Brembo rears on mine, it felt much better, but since Hravey did the brake bias mod, it feels FAR more solid and planted in braking.
