Newage rear brake question

Default Newage rear brake question

I have a bug sti with factory brembo's and have a spare set of front callipers could these be used on the rear instead of the little 2 pots ?

Not a straight swap, not even sure they could be made to fit given the size of the fronts.

The 4-pots are designed for a smaller disc than the rear Brembos so you would need to design a bracket and maybe also split and space out the caliper depending upon the width of the disc. I would also guess that the iron 4-pot will be heavier than the Brembo alloy 2-pot so you would start adding weight which isn't good

The effort involved certainly would not create equivalent benefits.

as i understand it your talking about bolting the STi brembo's on the rear............

there is a lot of brake balance issues you would have to resolve for a start and effectively you would end up reducing their performance to a point that the 2pots are near?? you would also have to fabricate brackets, etc. to enable them to even fit (all of which can be done if required), and you would still ideally want a large front upgrade to try and get the best out of them...........
