In the wet they are better than I was expecting to be honest as I heard some stories about them that
didn't fill me with confidence but for normal driving they are fine, Spirited driving is fun and ***** out is suicidal in the wet
I swapped from T1R's, they seem to be fine on classics but the sidewall has a bit too much give for me on a newage and I only got 7000 miles out of them

I'm going to try these when my Pirellis die. Heard some very good reports about them and about £100 each for 18" so not silly money.

For me
The best road tyre. All rounder. Great progressive let go on the limits of grip. Superb in the wet. Is the Goodyear F1 end of.
However not much good on track and when pushed hard goes off quicker. So very good on a dry road - but not the ultimate.
The best road legal track tyre for me. Way better than 888s is the Federal RSR. I push these on the limits at speeds of up to 160mph most weeks in something running 610Nm of torque. They are way better than the F1s when warm and when the road/track surface is warm. They are a great road legal track tyre. However they are no where near the great allrounder that the F1 is. The are OKish in the wet and cold if you drive quickish. But begin to push it a bit more they definately tell you they are not happy. Cold road this morning, I couldnt get enough heat into them. It wasnt the time to be pushing on!
So my advice would on your main decent wheels. Get a set of Goodyear aysmetric F1s on. For your couple of track days geta ****ty pair of second wheels and stick some Federall RSRs on them.
Skullfudge mentioned somewhere that DazDavies had recomended him some tyres that were very good. Not sure what they were. But they are both old hands like me that run big power cars. So I trust their judgement.
Cheers
Steve

Booth guys(Skullfudge and daz davies) recommend Hankook V12 which have great reputation, about the R888,they're great tyres, but RS-R-595 are for better price, offering great grip, treadewear is 140,which is not bad if you are looking on the R888 which has have 100(lower number means wear quickly than with higher number)
Hard to recommend,we are run R888 on track days and we are been very happy with grip which they offering, tried RS-R too on friend EVO and must admit I've been surprised with them in good way
Kumho KU36 are good too which offering similar performance, plus have look on the Hankook RS2 or RS3(not sure if you can buy them here in UK)

I have the proxy t1r's and they are soft compound and are worn out so looking to change very very soon.
Quiet tyres compared to the RE07's and not as hard but as mentioned soft and wear quickly, and not so good in the wet imo either

Using T1Rs as tyres is a bit like keeping hamsters as pets.
The best thing about them is that they don't live/last very long.
